Rail Canada vol. 1 Companion CD - Disk 3

Delayed until Myra Canyon Explorer released

In 1972 CN began application of it's second orange, black and grey paint scheme. This scheme consisted of all orange cabs and ends, black carbody with 45º stripes angled up to the rear starting at the rear of the cab. Of course there were exceptions to this as not many GP9s were short hood operating end forward, but the stripe position might indicate this.

Many rebuilt GP9s,GMD-1s and SW1200RS units had black cab sides with white and gold road numbers. Several F7 A&B units were also rebuilt to F9 specifications during the life of this paint scheme. The rebuild programs are described and the  renumbering of units covered extensively as well as much of the subsequent retirement history.

Each type of diesel has a colour paint diagram and in some cases a second or third where variations occur.

Data sheets for each sub-class have been prepared and come with a colour photo in most cases. Additional full screen colour  pictures are included when available.

DATA By mid August 2003 there was in excess of 325 pages in this slide show, 90% of which are photographs
