In 1992 CN became CN North America (CNNA), the 45º grey stripes were gone,
replaced by the familiar CN wet noodle or lazy 3 monogram imposed over a
darker grey stylized map of North America.
This map scheme was applied to high horsepower
units (3000+) with a couple of exceptions. Another variation was to see the
continuation of stripe scheme on some of the rebuild/remanufactured unit
beyond 1992.
When the SD75i units arrived in 1995 a new
modified (side) monogram came with them. The map was dropped and monogram
size increased from 96" to 120". Not all units going through manufacture we
caught in time, though the map was dropped.
