Painting diagrams are provided for all the schemes used up to the time of publication in 1979. Most all diagrams were based on railway drawings in LPD files or that Don had access to at the time of drawing creation or from photographs.

All photo have detailed captions on painting features and/or locomotive details that effect painting or modeling.
